Cabela’s Presents: Kristy Titus at the 2016 Big Horn Show!
The Big Horn Outdoor Adventure Show is proud to announce that Cabela’s hunting ambassador, Kristy Titus, will be hanging out with US at the show this year! Passionate about supporting wildlife and habitat conservation, Kristy travels around the world on various hunting excursions and educates others on the outdoors. Pushing her mind and body to the limits and enduring the most severe weather conditions are just the beginning for Kristy. A member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, she is also a featured spokesperson on “Team Elk,” the Foundation’s television show featured on the Outdoor Channel where you can witness for yourself her championship award-winning Elk calls.
Over the past several years, Kristy has been part of the Wilderness Athlete Pro Staff, and served on her local Safari Club International Board of Directors, later becoming the VP and then President of the High Desert Chapter. An NPC figure competitor, Kristy knows there is nothing more powerful than proper nutrition and physical training. High Flying Action From DockDogs®
The 2016 Bighorn Outdoor Adventure Show will once again be featuring the high flying action of DockDogs®, the independent governing and sanctioning body for dock jumping and dock diving canine performance sports. The exciting and crowd drawing action will be returning to the entertainment scheduling after a hiatus for a few years so make sure to take advantage of this incredible attraction by experiencing the fastest growing sport for canines in North America.
Throughout the Show, DockDogs® will present the Big Air® Wave competition accompanied by an Extreme Vertical® and Speed Retrieve® competition for both competitors and spectators to enjoy. The Big Air® competition features dogs running down a 40’ dock and diving into a pool of water after an object, in which they are electronically judged for the length of their jump. The Extreme Vertical® competition is a “High Jump” for the dogs as they each lunge to snag a “bumper” suspended in the air. With each grab, the height increases in 2-inch increments until only one dog is crowned king. Rounding out the action is the newest form of competition known as Speed Retrieve® – where the dogs are put on the clock to see how fast they can run down the dock, jump into the water, swim to the end of the pool and retrieve an object which is held by a modified extender arm.
The competitions are open to any and every one. Teams are made up of one dog and one handler. Your canine must be 6 months or older to be eligible. Canines of any breed, size or shape are welcomed. Not only is the competition open to all types of canines, but also handlers above the age of 7 are welcomed. We even have a Youth Handler class for those who are between the ages of 7-14.
So if you or anyone you know has a dog that likes the water, gets along with other dogs and enjoys a good “chew toy”, this event is for you! Pre-registration will be available until 1 week prior to the Sport Show by clicking here, or you can register on-site at the beginning of each day. For more info and a schedule visit BigHornShow.com
DockDogs® is the independent governing and sanctioning body for regional, national and international dock jumping performance sports.
