    Mike Carey's Blog
Welcome to Mike's Fishing Blog, the culmination of a ten year vision for this web site. I fish for anything that swims - put a pole in my hand and I'm there!
OK, so this is a non-fishing post (except that I did get to shop at Bass Pro Shops in Phoenix). My wife, son James, his friend Kevin, and I went to Spring Training last week. We had a great time and saw six games. Mariners, Dodgers, Cubs, Brewers, White Sox, Kansas City... lots of prospects (that's what spring training is). We also saw some stars - Ken Griffey Jr amoung others. The boys got lots of autographs and had fun being boys.

The HIGH POINT of the trip - my son James got asked to be the bat boy for the Chicago Cubs! So he sat in the dugout for the entire game, right next to Lou Pinella. James said every other word out of Lou's mouth was F-this and F-that. Good thing my son isn't the sensitive type.

So fishing-related stuff. Well, I got to go to Bass Pro Shops in Phoenix for a couple hours. Bought a bunch of gear and salivated over the bass boats. I will say, this BPS is not as good as the one in Vegas, but lots of fun none the less.

Here's some fun pics and a video: 57568158_Spring_Trainng_09_062_Large.jpg45779613_Spring_Trainng_09_021_Larget.jpg

yup, that's James. Can you imagine getting to be in there with those guys for a game? My son has a lucky star sometimes, I swear.

Cool photos MIke, I assume your son is the one in the dug out between PInella and the player. That looks like a fun family trip.
