hey guys im planning on taking my little brother our for his first taste of steel on the skykomish tomorrow. i was planning on going up to reiter but it sounds like he wants to find a spot with less people with him being new and all. i was thinking of the cracker bar or something, but im wondering is it all still under water? i was up there a few weeks ago and the water was up to the trees on most of the bank. i any of you have seen what it looks like i would appreciate the heads up.

Water is still very very high, its going to rain maybe until tuesay. Thursday if the water drops, will be good and if I'm lucky I wont be working.

High water will come back every time we get warm weather until the snow is gone. But it will be your friend! It brings in fish, they're not all antsy and perturbed and line shy like they are when the water is down and clear. The current will give you a better fight too. You can fish Reiter when it's pretty darn high, as long as it's safe.

Its real close to not being safe right now . The water is moving super fast and is higher then I have ever seen before.

Anything over about 8 feet or 8,000 cfs is pretty much blown out.

I drove by cracker bar on my way up to Reiter yesterday, it was definitely close to the trees but there was enough bank that there were at least a couple guys fishing it.

well we just got back from the crackerbar. the water was up to the trees on most of the bank but there was a little shore if you waded through a little shin deep water... funny part is my brother was wearing jeans and wouldn't wade through the water so i had to piggy back him across the water. if anyone on here saw this i hope you got a good laugh out of it im sure we looked ridiculous. left with no fish but the season is still young, good luck out there

went 1 for 2 on on the sky today. went out with natetreat and the water seemed to be manageable. pulled in a nice chrome buck and then crackered one about an hour later. rest of the day was pretty slow. we covered a lot of water in our attempt at "hide and seek"

The water is going to be high for the next month or so. It's par for the course. A really warm day will send it shooting up, and some places won't be very good. But 7,500 8,500 cfs are great for steelhead, some of my favorite times to fish.

I love high water steelhead!!! No people, the fish are at your feet and fressh fish move in every hour or tide, sounds like fun as long as you know where to fish and their traveling lanes
