Where are all the Pinks that are supposed to be in the Snoho

Guys - Anybody have any thoughts on the quality of the August 1st opener? It seems like there are no pinks in the Edmonds/Mukilteo/Everett Area (Area 9) that is open for fishing. If they aren't in the salt yet, how are they going to be in the river in 5 days?

In 2011 the river didn't open until the 15 or 16th if I remember correctly. There was some fish to be had but not many by then.
Everything is on par in the salt so far, just sit back and they will come.

Try the lower Snohomish around langus park or up off Lowell rd.... 2011 we saw small pockets of fish way before the main run came in....

My problem is that I have to travel for work Aug 15th to Sept 6th and I don't wanna miss anything. Save some for me!

We will save a couple humped out bucks for ya [thumbup] it should be good through September I would think. Sound like an awesome run of coho are right behind em nipping at their heels.

You will get back for prime snoho time.
I got into a whole bunch of them today in area 9 fairly close to 8-2. Bonked 5, lost a couple and a seal took me for a good run before stealing another. We also found 3 nice coho.
If I were a betting man I would say there should be some pink trickling up the river by now.

The were out in force in 8-2 yesterday right at slack high tide. there will be some fishing pushing in with the high tide in the lower river. Ive been watching the river thru the telescope looking for jumpers and havent seen any yet... Another two weeks and a squirt of rain and that thing will be boiling

There are actually quite a few out in the A9 A10 area already, check the fish counts w the state. Heard of several caught by Chinook fisherman this weekend.

Also, unlike last season, the runoff melt from the mountains was high and has kept our river water temps down. This should bar the creation of a thermal barrier at the mouth of the rivers. Fish ought to roll right up out of the salt, no problemo.

How did you do yesterday? Saw your boat fishing the east side of the bar.
