Seattle Times trout report

Post by GeryG » Thu Jan 03, 2008 7:27 pm

Today in the Seattle Times, there was a trout report that said, lake Stevens got a hefty trout
plant last month. I check Washington fish and wildlife fish stocking report, weekly report, and
another spot and didnt mention any planting of fish in lake Stevens.

Anybody out there know any thing about this? :-k

sometimes wdfw is not the source of the stocking, i dont know the lake but if people live on the lake they somtimes have the right to get a money pool going and stock it thereselves. also the times could be mis-informed but i would bet it had something to do with private party's stocking the lake.

The triploids weren't stocked by the WDFW but a private group.

that is another way that people who fish certain lakes can make sure their triploids grow to good size because the general public would not know they had been stocked, like they would if wdfw did it because they put the news out everywere. which brings me to another point. i think that certain lakes should be stocked with triploids and then closed right after for a season much to the dismay of the food fisherman but it would give the fish a chance to grow to trophy size so sport fisherman can have the thrill of fighting a 3-5lb trout, not the usual 8-12 inchers wdfw stocks regularly
