Getting set up for a week in Chelan with the new boat and I am keen on trying Lakers for the first time. I see that most guys are running Squaw fish (oops... Northern Pikeminnow) on the hook. I don't forsee being able to get some so I will need an alternative. Has anyone tried the Berkley herring strips?

I haven't tried that, however, I have used a chunk of prawn soaked in shrimp and other flavors, and have caught lakers that way. You may want to give it a try.
Shad would be another option.

I like to use a glow flatfish type bait with krill juice on it, no pikeminnow needed

I like running Sardines. I fillet them the night before and soak them in a brine%tight then smear everything in shrimp oil. We caught them last weekend on just hoochies with no bait or scent.
