Gillnetting/Killing Lake Cle Elem Mackinaw

Does anybody know if the Yakama Nation/WDFW is going to start killing lake trout again this fall with gillnets?

They did such a good job last time, lets hope they don't want to go back.

Hopefully. Most states covet and protect trophy fisheries, native or not. Wyoming has a very progressive F/G department and here is an excellent article describing the attributes of trophy lake trout. Here is the link

Unfortunately it's another one of those "not native fish" issues and they are trying to re-establish a sockeye fishery in the lake. Damn shame, the lakers are pretty fish and make for a fun and interesting fishery.

I'm not sure the native northern pike minnow supports the state's view of "protecting native species" especially when it comes to the bounty.
