A buddy of mine is coming up and wants to fish for Mackinaws here soon and I really dont know much about it other then I have heard you can catch them shallow this time of year in about 30 feet of water. I want to launch at Coolin and hope to find a good spot near there. Anyone know of a good spot that you could show me on google earth maybe. Or send me the GPS fix on the spot. Not really sure what to use either as most of you know, I'm a Bass, Pike, and Muskie fisherman. I know some guys dropshot for them, and I would think a jiggin spoon would work, so any help here on where to go and what to use this time of year?

It's been years since I fished it but with Macks, you just want to look for structure. They're ambush predators. Look for holes ridges anything they can hide behind or in, troll about anything past them or toss a gig. they bite on almost anything.
