Yea, reason I ask is I saw one washed up dead the other day at Green Lake. It was about 10 pounds, big, and I don't know what killed it, but I'm thinking about trying to catch any of the others that may still be around. My map of Lake Washington says there are cats in Lake Washington, but it doesn't say what kind, I'm betting bullheads. I used to catch bullheads like crazy when I was a kid, and from what I remember they were great eating. I love catfish for the table, but I've never caught a channel cat myself. I also heard of some pond north of Everett that had been planted.spokey9 wrote:i know harts out by yelm has channels, so does swofford pond out in mossyrock. green lake in king county was planted with them years ago too, but i dont know first hand if there's any left there.natetreat wrote:Are there any lakes on the north/west side that have channels in them?

The ponds N.of Everett are called Gissberg Ponds. Located in Smokey Point and on the west side of I-5. You can see them from the freeway. Never fished there or fished for cats however I know Channels were planted in the ponds several years ago. If theres any left they should be nice sized. One of the ponds is juvenile only, not sure which?natetreat wrote:Yea, reason I ask is I saw one washed up dead the other day at Green Lake. Pretty much the whole lake has bank access, there are several fishing docks on it too. I usually stick to the sw & south side of the lake, but there is a poplular dock on the east side too. You have to keep watch of the rowing teams though, sometimes they will get close enough to the shore to catcha line.spokey9 wrote:is there any decent bank fishing at green lake? i've never made the trip there to check it out.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
