Lowland Lakes Opener

As a new angler (started fishing last June) I am anxiously awaiting Saturday! I can't wait to start exploring the lakes in my tri-county area (Kitsap, Jefferson & Mason) and maybe a few Pierce & Thurston lakes. I also am looking forward to learning more and refining my trolling abilities. I have a soft goal of fishing at least 30 different lakes (no specific list, but a few must hits). In addition to hooking as many rainbows as humanly possible I plan on trying for some Kokanee and Bass. I also am thinking of getting some entry level fly fishing gear (rod, reel & tying equipment). I don't know how much I will get to see my friends or how bad my yard will look this year, but I WILL spend alot of time on the lake this year.
Please remember three things while out there this weekend (and all season):
1) BE SAFE!!!!
2) Be patient, both on the lake and with your fellow anglers.
3) Be courteous (both to your fellow anglers & the neighbors that live on the lakes we fish, this is thier home-we are the guests).
Hope to see you on the lakes & good luck out there.

I avoid lakes this weekend like the plague. Although I might end up going and watching a boat launch or two LOL.
"Opening Day" has always cracked me up. Lakes that are open year around are a ghost town the weekend before. People hear it's opening day and they flock to the nearest body of water. You watch, places like Kapowsin and Spanaway will be packed on "opening day"

I'm hitting my "secret" secluded lake on Saturday. There is NO WAY I would hit any of the "popular" lakes this weekend at all.

I love to watch the madness of opening day. I get to the lake the night before, launch the boat and party all night haha.

The more regulated and difficult to get to, the better. it's going to be a circus on the lowland lakes.

I'll be right next door to a crazy circus! Sun Lakes. Dry Falls and Deep are selective gear only. I get watch but not participate.
Although it is fun to sometimes jump in with both feet.

They should sell tickets to a seating area at the boat launches on opening weekend. The comedy show is priceless!!!

I always anchor close to the launch, throw out all the gear and start up the grill while watching all the people try to launch. Its a good show every year
