I have had my BBQ for over 2 years now and it is great. Food tastes great! Smoking on it is easy! Fish is great. I have even cooked a pizza on it.
It is a Traeger Pellet grill. "Lil' Tex" If you are thinkin to make an investment in something that BBQ-grills-and smokes this is a wonderful way to go.

A buddy of mine has one at his house and it's killer for salmon fillets or ribs....

It will cook anything good. Ever tried a wood smoked pizza? I did a basil pesto pizza in the grill on high for about 15 minutes. Turned out great!
Because they cost so much I feel it is an investment. I was very glad I took the plunge.

I've looked at them but feel uncomfortable with the concept because the pellets just seem to be unnatural.
To make a pellet you need "binders". Binders are mostly chemicals manufactured from petrochemicals.
I mean. What is a committed environmentalists and protector of planet earth to do???

I have one that is windmill powered.

I'm sure it only takes a few windmills to keep it running.:bom:

"Only the finest hardwood raw materials are sourced from all over the country. The pure, raw material (sawdust) is then pulverized with hammer mills and dried. The dried material is then processed under heat and pressure. Lignin, which is the natural glue which holds plant fiber together, softens above 100 degrees Celsius, permitting the material to change shape. The hot lignin then acts like a glue to bond the pellet together."

I've got a barrel at the corner of broadway and 9th. Just toss in some trash and light it up. Not so good at cooking pizza. Unfortunelty its a big hobo attracter during winter time.
