I could definately do teal.... just something.... the only place I have been doing well is on the Columbia River... the basin is starting to freeze up so there isnt much out there except for Potholes and Moses Lake

Up around Brewster on the Columbia should be pretty good right now. I have been jump shooting creeks and irrigation canals and have been doing really well. With the cold snap all of the ponds are locked and even the Yakima River has ice backing up so the birds are going to move out of here. They usually go to the Columbia when it freezes like this so it should be some awesome hunting in the next few days over there. Our birds will move to the Columbia by McNary Dam and that area. Creeks and drainage ditches are the places to hunt right now. Good luck.

I have been going to Brewster, cause thats where I usually go when the Basin freezes..... there are a ton of divers up there...... all of the Greater Scaup are in and Redheads are in too......... Some Ringnecks, Goldeneyes, and Bufflehead..... Lots of Canvasback... too bad you can't shoot any... there are some Mallards around up there........ there are not ery many Wigeon which I thought there would be!!!! but there are thousands up there.... its great shooting!!!!! I just wish I would have been able to get some more Mallards this year........

There are tons of mallards here in the Yakima Valley right now. The ponds and river is still frozen, but the irrigation creeks have tons of birds in them. i am going to Walla Walla Saturday. We have a little spot next to Mill Creek where this old dairy use to be. There is a warm water spring that creates a little back water in this pasture and the owner put a blind for us and it is awesome when the ducks and geese find it. We are hoping this is the weekend! Will post pictures on Sunday.

Did not make it to Walla Walla today. We left at 4:30 am because it is a two hour drive and ran into to some freezing rain and had to turn back. Will try again next weekend. We got home and at about 8:00 it was nice and sunny. Should of pushed through the rain, but who knew it was going to clear!

how can people be so stupid to mistake a Swan for a Snow goose.... the swans are like 4 times as big!!!!! that kind of stuff just pisses me off!!!!! people need to know what they are shooting before they shoot!!!! otherwise we are going to start losing our priviledges as hunters!!!!!

I've been hunting King County (south) and this year we have had a merganser, shovellers, mallards, wigeons, speckle front geese, and one flock of Canada's, but thats it. I've seen no teal, no snow geese, and very few canadas (like I mentioned). Kinda bummed, but I think this saturday I'm going to give it the old college try down at my tried and true lake in Orting. (pierce county)

Went scouting on the Columbia down below Paterson. There are thousands of ducks and geese down there. The sky was black with ducks over a corn field just before dark. Seems that a huges waves of waterfowl has pushed to this area during the cold snap. I will be hunting down here until the end of the season.
