WDFW boat launch near Monroe scheduled to close for renovations

MONROE – A popular public boat launch owned by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) on the Snoqualmie River near Monroe is scheduled to close Sept. 8-9 for repairs to the boat ramp.

Starting Sept. 8, the High Bridge Water Access Site will be closed to the public while a WDFW crew replaces damaged boat ramp planks.

The access site is located 4.5 miles south of Monroe on Crescent Lake Road.

Derek Hacker, WDFW access site manager, said closing the ramp during construction is necessary to ensure public safety, noting that the department is committed to finishing repairs on schedule.

“We’re well aware that the Snoqualmie River system is a big draw for fishing and other types of recreation, and we want to have our ramp up and running as soon as possible,” he said.

Alternate launch sites in the vicinity include WDFW’s Lewis Street Water Access Site on the Skykomish River (http://wdfw.wa.gov/lands/water_access/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and the City of Duvall’s Taylor Landing on the Snoqualmie River.
