wildlife managers have a difficult time managing animals in these situations i would rather them use the tactics they used than to have someone stumble upon mother bear and cubs and get malled/killed. the next step would have been death of the bear if it would have attacked a person, nobody wins at that point, so if a few bean bags and a scary ordeal helps both sides that is what may need to be done, these guys have better things to do than to go around amusing themselves by harrasing animals. <')//<

Ok...I would like something to be done to prevent an attack, as well. I definitely wouldn't want to see anyone get hurt or killed by the bears.
I can see one of two scenario's playing out the next time the bears come into contact with humans.
1. run the other way
2. chew on before mentioned human about the head and shoulders.
I take no issue with trying to keep animals from attacking, but what really surprises me is the method they choose to use. Especially in a state, that has so many animal rights whacko's, and who seem to think they need to have their nose's up everyone's backside and impose their will upon everyone else.
Just surprising they couldn't come up with a better plan than to beat the hell out of the bear with beanbags and rubber bullets. I would have at least thought they would have sat the bears down and talked to them and let them know the difference between right and wrong....or give them a hug and sent them on their way.
