CLEAR

By Mike Emerson

Clear lake in Spokane County is a nice, rustic lake that has many attractions to recommend it.

Directions-
Go west on I-90 from Spokane and take the Salnave Rd exit #264. Turn right on Salnave and go to the intersection of Salnave and Clear Lake Rd. At the intersection you will see three signs directing you to the resorts on the lake, (1 military resort & 2 public resorts) . To reach the resort on the south end of the lake go straight on Salnave Rd for about 1 mile and follow the signs. To reach the State Public Launch, the north end resort and theFairchild AFB Resort (military personnel only) turn right on Clear Lake Rd.

There is a nice boat launch (which we didn't get a good picture of) and a
pier with moorage. Fairchild Air Force Base Resort is on the north end. The north end has good fishing for trout and German browns, either trolling or still fishing. Troll slowly or still fish by the buoys or
still fish from the dock, which is good. There is a free, state maintained public boat launch on the south end of Clear Lake.

From a Reader:
Clear Lake in Spokane County has many attractions. All of the resorts offer camping, a store, boat rentals, dock fishing and have launch facilities. The public launch on the south end of the lake has 2 concrete slab ramps, toilets and plenty of parking. Both the north and south ends of Clear Lake have enforced speed restrictions and are buoyed off. These areas offer excellent fishing for large Rainbows, German Browns and spiny ray. In the fall, Clear Lake is a favorite stop over point for many ducks and Canadian geese migrating south.
