Re: How to get Steelhead (Skykomish)- ADVICE?
Totally ok. I'm (unfortunately) in the same boat as I was when I originally made this post. Not very experienced in salmon fishing.

Re: How to get Steelhead (Skykomish)- ADVICE?
That sounds like fun! After reading all the advice above about safety & not using my inflatable raft on the river... i'm looking for a good spot to shore fish and try to avoid the shoulder-to-shoulder thing. I understand that when the humpies come in this year... it'll be for about a month so I don'...

Re: Modify PT Cruiser roof rack for a Jon boat
Thanks again for those who have commented with wonderful ideas and advice. I wound up getting the boat. My boyfriend used his truck.. we were able to fit it in the bed of the truck, tied it down with a bunch of ropes and bungees and hung a red flag off the back. it worked fine. After seeing it in pe...

Re: How to get Steelhead (Skykomish)- ADVICE?
also.. thank you all for the great advice. I think I'll be doing a bit of studying before I get out and try for salmon. I guess I'm a slow starter. Looks like a ton of fun though!

Re: How to get Steelhead (Skykomish)- ADVICE?
Sorry it took me so long to respond!
I didn't wind up fishing for steelhead yet... was pretty busy on local lakes. I hear the humpies will be running good this year. I have yet to go salmon fishing. *pout*
maybe it'll work out this year.

Re: Modify PT Cruiser roof rack for a Jon boat
If I decide to go with the trailer hitch, what are the required licenses to be able to drive with one? Do I have to go to a driving school to prove I can drive with it? I'd like to avoid cost but I also don't know how to tell if my existing roof rack is strong enough to withstand wind pressure with ...

Re: Modify PT Cruiser roof rack for a Jon boat
Thank you for the advice all! I'm trying to save money but also want to make sure I am safe. If I can't manage a roof rack for the boat... I have no idea what to do to get a tow hitch, license & registration for it...etc. I guess my low cost boat is going to be costing me some money after all.

Modify PT Cruiser roof rack for a Jon boat
I'm acquiring a Coleman Ram-X Crawdad boat. It is 48" by 12'- plastic flat bottomed (Jon-boat). I have a PT Cruiser with a standard roof rack (it has an arch and all accessories are for something 34" so they won't work). The car itself is 67.1" wide and 168.8" long. I want to put the boat s...

Re: Fishing New Year's resolution?
I'm going to continue fishing as much as I can around local lakes. Last year (my first full year of fishing), I explored numerous lakes, caught crappie, bullhead, sunfish, small mouth, large mouth, rainbow, cutthroat, perch... and almost a duck! This year, I am hungry for something bigger & hope to ...

Re: 2013 "Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures" Gal
Back in May this year I caught this bad boy in Lake Stevens. My buddy told me I should post this pic in this gallery. I am pretty new and didn't have a scale or measuring device but I estimated it to be about 18"long and it was heavy. To hear my boyfriend tell the story (he was there & helped bank i...

Re: How to get Steelhead (Skykomish)- ADVICE?
Thanks for the tips guys. After further consideration with my fella/fishing buddy (and my lack of experience), I think I may make one trip to reiter just to watch & learn... and then go further down the river to a more private area without the throngs of fisherman. I'm wondering how far down I could...

Hi there! I've read all the recent posts, seen a bunch of awesome pics, saw a couple of great videos [drool], and I appreciate all this forum has to offer along with the great moderators and friendly guidance... but taking further time to research through 20+ years of posts seems a bit daunting. ](*...
