Re: Inflatable Kayak Buying Advice

Hi Ellamella,
I don't really have much to say about this, but wanted to let you know someone is looking at it!! The Aquaglide is similar to my Advanced Elements, which I love. I haven't used it in whitewater, however.

Hi Scott, I didn't respond because I've never fished the bubble. There are several reports on it that include some pretty detailed info.

Re: River Fishing Line

Hi Grayson, Welcome! I don't know anything about NY fishing, but I think spooling with fluorocarbon would be a bit of waste of money and would go with mono or braid. I prefer braid for almost all applications, except when you need the extra stretch of mono, like the soft-mouthed kokanee we have here...

2019 Campion 682

Hi All,
I know most of you prefer aluminum, but just in case...I'm selling my Campion 682 walkaround with twin Suzuki 150's. Its posted on boattrader, just search "campion" there aren't many.
Thanks
Gary

Sorry I don't have experience with those, but reviews on the Ceymar were pretty good and Shimano makes great reels in general

Re: Salmon Steelhead Rod/reel Under $150

I have the SST and like it a lot. The Sedona 4000 might be a bit heavy for that rod--depending how much you value balance. I have an OKUMA RTX 35 and it feels nice. Shopping tip: If you are an Amazon shopper be sure to check out "used" from the Amazon Warehouse. They aren't really used, but returned...

Re: Smart phone/iOS apps

I use Knots 3d, Tides Near Me, and Navionics. I have the Coast Guard app, but not all that useful. If you happen to be crossing the border when its back open the CBP ROAM app i useful (though I am a bit nervous about having a CBP app on my phone).

Re: Spot Shrimp Newbie

I got the square SMI pots from Costco this year and like them over the Ladner (or Ladner knock off I have). We went off hat island this year and did well. Lots of places to shrimp in 8-2. Check out the maps on johns sporting goods site.
And as Bentrod noted line management is important!

Re: Boat-in Beaches Everett/Island County Area

Hi JDP, I thought I replied before so if you get 2, my apologies. Much of the Sounds is private property so its best to look at parkland. Cama Beach on the west side of Camano island is a nice place, though I'm not sure if you can beach your boat there or not. If you launch at Washington Park in Ann...

Shrimp Pot

Word is shrimp may open for another day--be prepared! I have a Kufa Ladner-style shrimp pot. This is the big 30 inch pot. Picture is off the web, but its identical. Used twice. Good pot, but I'm going with the square style. If you wanted stackable, this is the pot for sure. $75 including 400 feet of...

Hi Speedbird,
You should check out John's site: https://johnssportinggoods.com/rigging-tackle/ I'm not sure if they are open again, but you can also stop by the store and they can set you up.

Re: New spinning new problem

Hello and Welcome!! As you will soon find there are as many opinions on gear as there are fishermen and it often comes down to budget. Shimano makes fantastic reels, but most of them are quite expensive. The Sienna and Sedona are under $100 I think. I have Okuma reels--the RTX in particular, which i...

Re: New to fishing in washington

Welcome to Washington! As Larry said shoreline access is tough. Between this site and various facebook pages you can see rivers where someone caught at least one fish but you may not know exactly where. When you go to said river you really can only try one or two spots a trip. If you have the means,...
