Re: Official Pink Season

You are absolutely right. We have been finishing our limits for 4 in less then 2 hours even with lost fish and some being released the last couple outing. I take back what I said earlier and even go as far to say that i think wdfw really got this one wrong.

Re: Official Pink Season

Let's hope it's a good season. Wdfw predicts an extremely low pink run with more coho returning to the sound then pinks. Snohomish river and the skagit aren't even allowing retention of pinks this year

Re: Brewster pool?

Is decent but I try not to chase reports and just for it. Some days are better then others but with the numbers of sockeye over wells dam it is definitely worth a shot

Re: Puget Sound salmon season

Yea I replace them with a double hook setup. I downsize the hook by one then the original to keep it working great. I also switch out line for flurocarbon I normally use. It comes with flurocarbon line already but I like a stiffer line when saltwater so the flasher imparts a little action on whatev...

Re: Puget Sound salmon season

Can't fish until Saturday. This thing called work is a nuisance and for some reason they want me there Mondays through Fridays . Saturday I'll be fishing in and around possession using red racer flasher with either a kingfisher spoon or the trusty OG2. Saturday the 21st that is

Re: Brewster pool?

If you keep trying you will never make it. I say put the things on the house on hold and go fishing when the fishimg is good. The house will be tjere but the fish only come once a year. Just saying

San Juan sockeye

So I'll be heading over to the san juans on the 15 to fish for chinook. The regs state 2 additional sockeye can be retained so my question is has anyone targeted and what were the results. What was used to specifically target them.

Re: Lake washington sockeye

I really don't understand the 350k threshold on a completely man made run. The run/Lake WA system seams to be telling us pretty consistently that it can not maintain that level. Why is it not managed to sustain a run of ~50k-150k fish? This seams to be what the run/system is telling us it can do. T...

Re: Lake washington sockeye

Glad to hear your perspective on this subject. I actually knew about the baker lake stock being a lot stronger then the natural run from a century ago just would he nice to see a bigger if possible. The revenue would be great for the region. Also one thing I must point out is that lake Wenatchee sto...

Lake washington sockeye

Every year i keep looling at the counts in ballard in the hopes of having a sockeye fishery close to home and every year seems to be a disappointment. This year so far they haven't even broke 3000. The way i see it is why manage these fish and why spend tax dollars and wdfw budget on a fish most us ...

Re: Herring strips with Hoochies

Herring strips. Sure you can use yarn but me myself prefer the herring. My thought in this is that the herring commits the fish into taking a bigger bite instead of just short strikes resulting in more better hookups and more fish in the box

Re: Lost Tennessean

No need to troll at all for salmon( although trolling is my preferred method of fishing for salmon in the sound) mooching can and is very effective. Banana weight to a leader about 4 ft tied with 2 hooks. No need to cut plug the herring just use the hooks to make a bend in the herring so it imparts ...
