Re: Kachess / Kacheelus / Cle Elum
I broke through the ice in E Wa after a freeze and water level drop and refreeze. Dropped a good two feet before touching down and stopping on the ice below. Quite a surprise! Made me more careful about going out on it.

If you want to make something fiberglass I may be able to help. I am by SeaTac Airport between Seattle and Tacoma. I also have phenolic sheet.

Re: Sonar interpretation?
Sounds good! I do a 'little' math in my boat as I made a line angle/length/depth chart so I could tell how deep my presentation actually is in the water. That and stretched out my down rigger line with a 100' tape to check the reading on the down rigger. If I have 100' of line out with little weight...

Re: kokanee fish finder/depth/gps unit
Sigh... I have been watching videos and more videos, reading reviews, visiting manufacturer sites for trying to decide on a sonar unit. The majority of everyones videos, both pros and regular angler, don't do as much demonstrating as saying how great, game changing, bla, bla, bla. I don't want a tal...

Re: Puallup Sportsmans Show. Who's Going and for What?
Was looking at the exhibitor and demo list and am a bit disappointed. Then I looked at the PNW Show in Portland in early February. Much more on both. Might skip ours and run down there...

Puallup Sportsmans Show. Who's Going and for What?
Next weekend is the Puallup sportsmans show. Are you going? What are you looking for?
I will be looking at electronics. Well, everything actually, but mainly looking to see if there will be anything new.

Re: Map of Lake Chelan
Paying for a guide for one day can save you a bunch of frustration and time in the future. Just make sure to pay attention and take notes if you have to! Then you will know where to, what with, how, and when. You can adjust from there to suit yourself. It really is money well spent.

Re: kokanee fish finder/depth/gps unit
[biggrin] True that! I went down to Bass Pro Shop and checked out the displays. I was interested in checking out a 7" model. Until I saw the 9". Then the 10"... I am pretty sure that screen size and clarity will be very high on the priority list. That is an issue I have with the Panoptix that I am s...

Re: kokanee fish finder/depth/gps unit
Nice screen shot! I have seen pics of boats decked out with many electronics and wonder if it would be 'too much' information? For me anyway. Not sure what I will go for at this point. Sometimes 'more' does not equal 'more fun' but it would be nice to think I am at least on a part of the lake that h...

Re: kokanee fish finder/depth/gps unit
No need. Panoptix is phased array, most of the others are sweep or pulse. All are good for different reasons. If I had a large boat and deep pockets I would have one of each of them from all the different manufacturers! Wouldn't that be fun?!?!

Re: kokanee fish finder/depth/gps unit
Welllll, I was deciding whether to let this go or not, buuuut decided to go ahead and address it. ALL sonar measures from the transducer. All send and receive raw data pretty much the same way. They are looking at the return signal and show on the screen what gets received and what gets absorbed. It...

Re: Eagle Claw Featherlight Kokanee/Casting rods are here!
I had one of these for many years and had made one repair some years back. It 'exploded' this year when I healed it over with a downrigger. Had to be close to 25 years old. One of my fav's. I will probably pick a couple up...

I have watched most of the promo video's for most of the systems and am waiting to see if any come out with a bundle arrangement this month, which is when the last of the new stuff comes out usually.
I am pretty sure the Humminbird 360 is real time as well? Too much neat stuff!

There are so many nice electronics out there now. The Panoptix, the 360', I pilot link, Side Scan,,, on and on. What made you decide to go with the Panoptix?
