Re: Area 9 closing
I find the wording very confusing though. It says "Opens salmon fishing south of Foulweather Bluff and Olele Point." but then says "South of Foulweather Bluff and Olele Point is closed during the chinook mark-selective fishery in compliance with state and tribal management plans. Surplus pink and c...

Caught 6 targeting Salmon while trolling near Whidbey on Sunday. All you have to do is troll too slow and bang. Dog on!

A couple years ago people were catching some in broad daylight when the coho were coming but not biting.

Re: Point No Point & Bush Point Beach Fishing
Was going to say the same thing. Spoke with fish counter in Everett and they said they expect some sort of announcement regarding closure of Area 9 to Chinook (to boats and I assume beach people as well) come Tuesday. Meaning everybody will run to Edmonds but here is the bad news.... nothing off the...

Re: Tulalip bubble
Enquiring minds want to know... is it even worth it to go fishing for salmon at the Tulalip bubble? I'm asking because the last time my friend and I went it was an obstacle course of crab pots.

Re: Looking for a verified place to catch flounder
Edmonds pier has NEVER been a great spot to catch flounder. You brought up Mukilteo but if it's pay to park now oy. Um Shilshole bay Dock A - the public fishing dock should have some. I know the dock near the boat launch area has 'em as well.

Re: Taking the Bait: Time to buy my first fly setup
... or watch Craigslist and buy used. For years I've considered making the jump to fly fishing and usually sanity returns before I pull the trigger. I'd usually realize that fly rod leads to flies which leads to new waders which leads to a pontoon boat which results in getting a new car or truck whi...

Re: Mount St. Helens
I had just finished delivering my paper route and was putting my cart away at the house and was about to walk into the backyard when I heard the loud noise of the mountain erupting. Didn't think much of it and went back to bed. It was only when I woke up and turned on the TV expecting to see some sh...

Re: where are you going for opening weekend?
I refuse to say where I'm going because every year I say... I'm not going to any of the lakes on opening weekend because it's a mob scene and people get so excited about catching a 5 inch trout like it's some trophy fish and they say... nummy dinner is set. And I'm thinking rightttttt clean the fish...

Last night (Friday) some guy had at least 20 in under a half hour at the Edmonds Pier. Just think its a case of where you are and what you are doing and if they are in the area. I've just not had much luck myself this year.

Re: Area 7 San Juans: Emergency Rule Change for Blackmouth
I got the same email today. What it should have said is that they are afraid if they leave the limit at 2 the quota for the region will be met way before the April Area 7 closure date. Much the same reason as why most of the sound was 1 King on the boats last summer instead of the normal 2. As I und...

Re: Squidin' 2014
I too was going to ask if the lights helped at all. My 2014 Squid tally was a whopping 0 in 4 (short abbreviated tries off the Edmonds pier). I was mumbling to some Asian gentleman after he had mentioned Edmonds pier and Squiding how I've seen maybe 60 to 70 people out a night at times this year. So...
