Not sure if Bonneville pool is river or lake but they just posted some hugific (is hugific a word??)
chinook counts....... about 30,000 for Wed. and 22,000 + for Thurs and Fri......... anyways that's
over 70,000 fish in the last 3 days......
If true (and you have to be careful with these dam counts cuz they keep revising them all the time) it means
fast action at the Wind, in Drano Lake, and probably even in the Klickitat...... (These are the only places you can fish for chinook there... the pool itself is closed to chinook fishing until June 16)...
But holy cow.. incredible numbers....
Almost seems like the chinookies know they are being hammered by the seals and they pack together in huge schools for to give more of themselves a chance to run the gauntlet...
Now I'm wondering who trains them.... anyways.. go chinookies.....

Fish doesn't smell "fishy" because it's fish. Fish smells "fishy" when it's rotten.

RE:Bonneville Chinook Count
oops... now I'm looking at the numbers in graphical format and it looks like
somebody slipped a decimal point in the tabular listing...
I think the numbers are supposed to be about 3,000, 2,000, and 2,000 for a total of 7,000, not 70,000...
makes a lot more sense...

RE:Bonneville Chinook Count
interesting video....
there are definitely fish coming up the river this year, but chinook counts are already dropping and
total is just over 53,000... not gonna be up to expectations.... and sporties are already grumbling about
the number of fish in the downstream tribs.....
oh well... there's still the fall and summer runs to come and the number of jacks points to a good year in '08...
