A Berry Good Day

Post by racfish » Fri Aug 13, 2010 5:27 am

Yesterday I had a measure up in La Connor.Driving back home I stopped at Swansons to get berrys. Marionberries,Boysenberries,Huge Blackberries,Blueberries and of course Strawberries.I stopped at 4 other stands looking for the ultimate berry for my jamming. Looks like I got some work cut out for me in this sweltering heat.I took my mom and dad a flat of these huge very rich tasting blackberries and they couldnt believe the size and flavor. Its towards the end of the season so now is the time to get the excellent local stuff.I enjoy traveling from town to town spending some hard earned monies . I like keeping it in Wa State. I may complain about this state but I love Wa State and our great USA.. BUY LOCAL.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

rac, when you get a chance you need to venture down here to the Sumner Enumclaw and Bonney Lake area. We have some of the best local fruit stands. Spooner Farms to name a great one. There are many other small ones that are great also.

Two things:

1. This thread is very fruity

2. You 'hate this state' but realistically, the east side of the mountains is a very different place from the west side.

bionic, I don`t think rac was awake when he wrote it. He still had sleepy`s in his eyes. I would agree that the eastside of the state is alot different from the west. They don`t seem to be as snotty as some of the people on this side. Maybe it`s because they don`t come into contact with people very often. Just jokin eastsiders.:)

I spend most of my time in the Eastern part of our state. I had a pad in Spokane for years in a place called Browns Addition (sp). I had a rental apt in Moses Lake also. I love the East side. I'am sure I will retire over there prolly in Ephrata.I totally agree with both of you on the Eastern part of our great state. Unfortunately Our business is in Seattle. The west side is a bit liberal for me. Im no right winger either. In fact I really dislike both major parties.Hehehe. RJN I love Spooners and buy from them all the time at Carpinitos. In fact I go to the Wally World in Puyallup just so I can go to Spooners or Picha farms. Then to McKenna for my meat supply.I just like the saying "if you vote go and complain,if you dont vote Shut Up." I vote so I'm always complaining.I just happened to be up north in Skagit yesterday.

On a side note I have a friend of my families that own around 1000 plus acres in Soap Lake. Its fun having a place to shoot any darned weapon I choose whether it be fully auto or not.Cant do that except on Rainier Ave in Seattle or Tacoma. Hehe
