Where to find local Chantrelles, (Cascades)

Post by The Quadfather » Sun Oct 19, 2008 4:23 pm

One of my favorite things this time of year is the local chantrelle mushrooms. Especially to see them go from like $20.00 a pount to like 6 bucks. Many people go out and harvest these guys in the local forest.
Would anybody be willing to PM with a couple locations if you don't want it to go to public in the forum?

Racfish.... don't hold out on me. I know you have your sources. (-: :-$

I think you can find them in the woods. Just look for the people without rifles. That is what I remember. o:)

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Sorry I didn't help you any. :eye: I haven't been or seen any mushroomers in 30 years. I had a cousin who was lost in the woods above Wilkinson, while hunting, who ate those mushrooms while he was out years ago. Those woods might not even be there any more.

In years past we would go to the Shelton area to look for the tastey Fungi.I imagine anywhere where there are evergreen trees and a nice moist floor.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
