What isn't expensive these days at the Grocery store???

Hopefully these decreasing gas prices will take skinny up the price tag on everything at the grocery store in the coming months....

2 lbs for 7.99 is very inexpensive.Where I buy cheese at PFI it starts at about 8.00 a pound and upwards.These decreasing gas prices wont reflect any changes in pricing I think.They know that we are used to paying more and I doubt they will lower anything.They might have a sale but prices will remain what they are.

I've noticed this as well in Spokane. I bought a small block of cheese (like 1.5" by 1" by 5") and it cost me around $6.99. Cheese it quite expensive. I really have no need for cheese]

Costco has the best price on Tillamook cheese that I have found. I believe their 5 pound brick of Tillamook Medium Cheddar Cheese is $ 12.89 or right around there. I will double check and edit if I am off.

EDIT: It was 14.89 for a 5 pound brick. $2.97 per pound. Will add this info in a quick reply.

Over the last weekend I went to a cheese party.Unfortunately I couldnt eat much but I went for the lack of anything else to do.Wow talk about pricey stuff.They had some cheeses that ranged from 30-60 bucks a pound.I thought I wish you guys were here.I did have a taste and bought a half pound of a very aged Gouda. It was very nice.Costco does have good pricing even on their more expensive varieties.

Fred Meyer has md. cheddar (their brand) on sale for 2 pounds for $4.99. That is the best it has been in many months.

I checked Costco and confirmed that their 5 pound Tillamook medium cheddar brick is 14.89 which is 2.97 per pound. Thats a great price.

If youre going the Tillamok way try their black waxed aged white cheddar.Its good stuff.I buy it for my mom and dad .They make tuna melts on the George Foreman grill.Relly good stuff.Unfortunately cheese and Weight Watchers dosent work real well.

True about the cheese and weight watchers. 1 ounce of the Tillamook in 100 calories so I eat it 1 ounce at a time on salads.

I'm with ya on that one brother! It's so good. I'd rather eat a tiny bit of the black label than a hunk of that tasteless stuff that's passed off as reduced or no fat cheese.

Back on the cheese subject. I like good Feta cheese.The cheese place I go is a place called PFI(pacific food importers) right off 6th ave south behind the immigration bldg.They specialize in selling Meditteranean foods.I prefer sheeps milk (or goats) feta.Its creamier and much softer.The Greek feta is hard and crumbly.Good tasting but too hard for my liking.I try to buy the Israeli Feta which is briny and soft.Almost creamy in texture.On Weight Watchers I can have a 1/4 cup for 3 points or 160 calories.Thats pretty low calories for a nice cheese.Sheeps milk also dosent affect my Lactose intolerance either so I can be comfortable eating it.The Bulgarian Feta is a close second.The French isnt bad either.The domestic Fetas arent worth it to me cuz its almost all cows milk.
I bought a piece of very aged Gouda the other day.Boy is that good stuff.Pricey but good.It was about 20.00 a pound.I bout a 1/2 pound only.That dosent bother the lactose intollerance either as most aged, dryer cheeses dont.
Cheese is such an awesome food.Too bad its so fattening to eat.The fat free cheeses just dont cut it for me.I've tried most of them and they just dont taste or have good consistency. Bon appetite everyone.

I've never has fat free cheese. In fact I didn’t realize it existed. Interesting! I will take your word for it and not give it a try. I reserve my time to enjoy more than one ounce of cheese for my "cheat day." That way I can have as much as I like with no guilt and I know that the cheat day meal helps keep me from the dreaded weight loss plateau. I will try the black label for sure Bodofish, It sounds great, thanks. I also love the Feta cheese and Costco has it for a fraction of the cost. It (Feta) goes great on salads and is fairly low in calories for the most part. It's a nice change on salads. I also put the imitation crab meat on my salads. Good stuff! 93 pounds gone and counting!
