twitching jigs - neat or down & dirty

Post by spokey9 » Fri Oct 16, 2015 7:55 am

so i've noticed that earlier in the year my jigs were coming really nice and neat, but lately i'm pretty much just quickly tying material on til i get the profile i want. the ugly jigs are getting bit just as well as the pretty ones i spent more time on, so it dont bother me none. since most people i see twitching are throwing jigs that look much prettier than mine out of the water, i'm curious how many other jig tyers only care about profile and action.

Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

I care less about how they look now over how they perform. Tying a pretty jig is fun, but if I'm in a hurry then I don't put much effort into them and, like you said, they still catch fish. [thumbup]

It doesn't matter what we think they look like, pretty or ugly. More important is what they look like hopping along the river bed, under the water. The action put on the jig is most important. Jigs really only need to be pretty to catch fisherman.
