You're welcome, hope it helps, not many of us ice fishers here,, I don't hit the ice as often as either of you but happy to help.

Pierre and Williams were the other two, predominately trout.

Kfedka, I was out there this past weekend. I didn't test the ice, but I saw at least 4 camps of fisherpeople fishing the middle of the lake between public ramp and Picnic Pines. I did a quick hand dip into the water at the dock to see how thick the ice is, and it's 3-4" thick around the dock. I saw a couple of really nice cracks running through the ice, and one quick push on the ice caused water to gush up through them. . .

I was on Waitts yesterday, Monday. Ice was good, mostly 9". Waitts lived up to it's name, cause I "waited" for the fish to show, they didn't.... I fished for a couple hours on the way back to the wetside of the state after visiting a friend in Chewela. Hatch was about 10", slow fishing, had the lake to myself all day Saturday. It appears the perch have been successfully eliminated from Hatch. It was a good weekend for a drive!

How so? For now, the perch are out of Hatch. We lost a winter of fishing there a couple years back because the state killed it off and left Hatch barren of ANY fish for a season. WDFW changed the regs on Hatch to catch and release BUT allowing retention of five trout. If/when perch return to Hatch, it's illegal to keep them so there is less motivation for bucket biologists to restart the perch population in Hatch. Most likely, someone will do it anyway if they haven't already. Overall, I'm glad the perch are out but I must admit I had fun pulling the stunted perch out of the water by the buckets full for about 2 years but at the same time, I saw the trout grow skinny and eventually eliminated by the voracious stunted perch.

Waitts? I hadn't fished it in the winter before. Just testing the waters so to speak for future trips.

I am optimistic about finding those special fishing locations at the rare moment when the fish are on the bite!
There is still good ice to fish, the season isn't over yet!

Any good sharp shop to sharpen auger blades in the Kenmore area? I'm either getting too old to twist this auger or the blades need to be sharpened. LOL [laugh]

I have Nils Master and my buddy sharpened it for me. He lives in Mukilteo. He charges $20.

Anyone know how the ice is holding up at Fish Lake (near Lake Wenatchee) or at Roses Lake (Manson)? Thanks, Tightliner

On the way back from the PO this weekend we stopped by Davis, Sacheen, and Eloika. All still have ice to one degree or another. Eloika is the farthest along with only the north end holding on.
