Planning on hitting up fish lake tomorrow. Where do I go pay for parking?

32 degrees and sprinkling in Moses Lake. Rest of the week is forecast for above 32. I suspect the Moses Lake ice fishing will end soon. 8 people out fishing this morning.

Fished Fish Lake today-- it's pretty thick, 8-9 inches solid near the middle of the lake! Idaho Guy, you pay at the Cove Resort parking lot. You'll see a little pay box with envelopes on your walk out to the lake. Here's a mapquest pin that shows where the parking lot at the Cove Resort is. http://mapq.st/VA2baK

Idaho Guy-- Hmm, the pin didn't show up. At any rate it's at the end of that NF-6401 roaf off of Chiwawa Loop Rd.

Thanks Fish-or-man! I drove up there once before when the lake still had open spots but the cove didn't look open at that time so I wasn't able to get any info. Is it still $5?

Yep, still $5. FYI- fishing was really good today. My buddy and I were only on the water for an hour (4:30-5:30) and caught four trout and two perch. One of the perch was a nice jumbo, and one of the trout went about 15-inches! We're heading over to Roses Lake tomorrow, but are going back to Fish Sunday morning, before going back over to the wet side.

Sweet!!! I'm looking to add more perch to my freezer. Is it just general regs for the trout? Good luck at Roses! Any particular spot on the lake to try?

The limit is 5 like the general rules, but only two over 15-inches may be retained (so probably a non-issue). Fish Lake also has a 25 perch limit. I've only fished Fish 4 or 5 times, so don't have any really good spots pegged-- I fish it all over. Looking at the WA Lakes topo map though, I tend to have my best luck in the drop-offs around the lake;30-35 feet of water. http://washingtonlakes.com/TopoMaps/632 ... Chelan.gif Good luck out there! It is a beautiful area!

Fish Lake was packed today! Probably two hundred people or better. Lot of people weren't catching much but myself and the other people I brought along brought home 17 perch and 9 trout.... Then we caught a carp which ruined everything. Aside from the carp not a bad day though!

I made a quick trip to the B & B in Soap Lake this morning to work out a trade. (Thanks again Jim) I stopped by the Coulee City Boat Basin on the way home to check out the ice conditions. The ice in the boat basin is running about 8" thick and fishable but according to a couple of locals the fishing today sucked. They had been on the ice for about four hours and hadn't gotten a single bite. I guess that's why they call it fishing.

Way to go Idaho Guy! I have caught a carp there too-- pretty small one, maybe 3 pounds. Roses had probably 50 people today. The ice at Roses was 4-5 inches thick depending where you were. It was very clear ice, but no where near as thick as Fish Lake's. Fishign was good for trout, but poor for perch (caught one perch, and 5-7 nice trout).

11 people out on Moses today. Almost to the point where one needs reservations for fishing. I suspect by next weekend the ice will be too thin.

@fisher-or-man. Sounds like you still did pretty good at roses! From what I hear some guys fishing out in the middle were catching some pretty big trout. I ended up fishing about 20 feet down in the bay right off the lodge. You were right about the ice being solid. You know it's good ice when you see five or six guys randomly walking slip and fall on their asses lol.

Agreeing with the previous post, 7-9" of ice in the boat basin at the south end of Banks. 3 hours fishing yielded 6 trout on 2 rods. Details in my report. No competition!

Just noticed, I think I saw Big D's dog's prints in the snow on the ice.

Looked at Silver Saturday. She is melting on the edges. The ice is probably sketchy now for ice fishing. Bring on the melt so we can get the boats out there! Likely be a few weeks yet, but the melt is coming soon.

Already two weeks my buddy and I were talking about it making plans where we will be going this year. :)
Our older friends telling us to stay focused on salmon and don't bother anybody. :)

It's called strategic planning! If you look at what worked last year, it's easier to start seeing patterns, and other hallucinations!!!
