Mitchell 3000

Post by racfish » Mon Jan 09, 2017 5:15 pm

Has anyone heard of the Mitchell 3000? I found one in my gear at Dads house. It looks exactly like a 300 only newer. It came in a nice plastic box with a extra spool. I cleaned up the reel and did some research. It was same as the 300 only it is their first ball bearing reel.

That is very cool!!!! I know how you like them. Now its time for a little drip of oil and It's off to the hole. I just came across all my father in laws old fishing gear. In the pile of reels was a circa 1958 300 in pretty darn good condition for It's age. I though about spooling it up and taking it out just for nostalgia sake but it's never going to be my CI4. It is nice to spin and finger f#$&@ just because in the 60's and 70's I caught a lot of fish with one. Rock on my friend.

C14 was a Cardinal? I have two older Cardinals. A c4 and a larger one I forgot the number on it. I used it for salt water.

Naw, a Shimano Stradic CI 4 See Eye 4 I have to go with the light weight or my casting is down to a few minutes at a stretch.
