Pink Salmon Jigging at the Shipwreck

Post by Mike Carey » Fri Sep 02, 2011 11:11 pm

Wow! Pink salmon flood into the Puget Sound in odd numbered years. Prime fishing can be found at "Humpy Hollow" and more specifically "The Shipwreck". My wife JoAnn and I fish with Toni of http://www.WannaFishaLure.com to try out her pink jigs. They work great! Jig fishing is a nice, relaxing alternative to the more popular trolling for pinks, and as we demonstrate can be just as effective. Filmed Aug 27, 2011.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

With that bobber on there, you could just about sit back with your feet up until you get a fish on. LOL If only it was that easy. LOL Watched the video from facebook page posting, nice touch. You're wife is still a little camera shy. Nice video!

I had strict instructions, she did not want to be "in" the video, so just a few brief shots that were unaviodable. The bobber idea I got before heading out because I had a feeling JoAnn, not being a fisher-person, would get tired of casting all day. The fish are so aggresive, especially early morning, that it worked. I have no doubt those jigs had beautiful action just bobbing alone in the waves and current.

I missed seeing JoAnn the first time I watched, not the second. :-$ Robyn is camera shy also. JoAnn must be a fisher-person by proxy. :) Great idea on the bobber, wave action does the rest.

There were lots of waves there. JoAnn may not want to be in the video but she does well filming. She did like the bobber fishing.
Thanks for the ride Mike. I don't think I have ever been on Puget Sound when it was so choppy.

Thanks for the nice comments.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
