By the way Rick. I didn't post the weight of that fish on here. Where did you get that accurate info?

Well then I guess you've already seen the photo.
I caught all 5 of my pike that day on one of the custom painted baits I've been doing. I've been catching pike on them for a couple of years now. If you're interested I have some for sale.

Went out Pikin again with Joe Kiger. We had a pretty amazing afternoon with 14 Pike in the boat WE started fishing about 3:30 and I had a fish on the first cast. I nice one about 8 lb.s as I was landing that Joe hooked up on his first cast to a big one and we had a double header. I quickly release my fish so i can net his which turned out to be a new PB for him a 38 1/2" and about a pound under 20. Before he got his fish out of the net I had another one one about the same size as my last one. I few casts later I hook up on a good one 36 1/2" and about 15lbs. I had a nice one hit and as I was trying to grab it's gill plate, she flopped and stuck me good in my finger in and back out again. Lucky for me the fish got off,so I didn't get a picture of that one. But I should have taken a pixs of the hook in my finger. lol I had to pop it the rest of the way through so I could cut it off then I pulled it out with some pliers. I thought Joe was going to pass out, the way he was carrying on you woulda though it was him that got stuck. We went back to fishing and banged fish for about a good hour then the bite died. I had a cool hook up on a nice fish we saw and I sight fished it. We saw it turn on my spoon and bang fish on !!!!! Another 15 lb. 36" fish Just before sunset we had a small flurry of hits and I added a few more to my total of 9 fish on the day of which 5 were over 10lbs and 2 were over 15. Joe got 5 on the day with one beauty at about 19 lbs.

So I have been out on a few more pike trips, got 4 one day along with this weird looking gold toothy 5 lb. Squawfish. I got 2 nice 15 lb. ones a few days ago and yesterday I got only 2 in a long hard day of fishing with my buddy HarleyPiker. We fished 2 different spots in a marathon day that we only managed to get 4 fish to the boat. Trying to get Harleypiker a big one but so far I have failed miserably. He had one fairly nice one on but it got off at boatside. Here are a few pixs of some of my 2 bigger pike one was 35 1/2" and the other was 36" and the squawally I got. As a bonus here is a 6lb L.M. Bass i got when i was suppose to be pike fishing.

I added 11 pike last Saturday and 4 yesterday fishing the north end of Cda Lake both times. That brings my total to 21 for the year

I hate to report puny totals but, anyway, I have 4 pike so far 2020 from 18" to 5 1/2 lbs. That's a two state total so maybe that qualifies
as an atta-baby! Thanks to fishin fool for a 14 hour marathon attempt. He will begin posting pics again now that I am not in his boat.

So I have been hitting the pike spots and not catching alot lately. My honey hole has pretty much dried up and i had had to find new water to catch pike in. I did manage to get a couple fish the other day plus I got 3 more last nite and a nice 34" 12lb. fish tonite to bring me up to 59 on the year.
34in. pike 6-20.jpg
It seams like the fishing up here has really taken a turn for the worse with F&G gill netting them and all the ahole deadbaiters killing every fish they catch it seams like the good pike are getting much harder to find. I did have a giant well over 40" fish fallow my swimbait last nite but I didn't get em. She saw the boat just as it was getting the lure and was gone. I still have one spot I want to check out that I think may be my new honey hole, but I haven't been able to make it in there yet.

I fished with a friend on Saturday and released 9 pike. My partner for the day, a seasoned walleye guy, had the big day catching and releasing 8 pike and 4 bass. He had the big fish of the day with a personal best 40"er that hit a bait he had painted himself. My total is 30 for the year at this point

I made a short mid week trip after work one evening and released 4 pike. Nothing big, 7 1/2 pounds was big fish of the trip. Saturday I managed 12 on the day with two at a little over 8 pounds. Ya I know, it sounds like a fish story but 10 minutes into the trip I hooked up with a large fish on a jerk/glide bait that had it's way with me for about 30 seconds. Only saw a quick flash of her side but she was a beauty. I'm pretty sure my brother got tired of hearing me say "I sure wish I could have gotten a photo of that first fish". Those 16 bring me to 46 n the year.

So the pike fishing up here in the P.O. has gone from bad to almost nonexistent!!! Since my last post I have only gotten 4 pike and none of them were what you would call big. F&G has put a major hurt on all the fishing up here with their gillnetting as they have pretty much wiped out all the walleye, pike, and bass. I think its time as sportsmen that we take action a put a stop to the gillnetting.
