I see people have ranks

Post by Mikeel1987 » Thu Feb 03, 2011 12:06 am

I'm new to the site and was wondering you get a higher rank? Is it just by posting stuff on the site or do we get higher ranks for being good at fishing haha. jw
Thanks
Mike

Its just ranked by the number of forum posts you have.... Unless you're a mod, then you're rank is whatever you want it to be.

Hey Matt,
You're about half right. Rank is based only on the number of forum posts you have. I'm a Mod and I'm unable to change my ranking otherwise I'd be Master Chief Petty Officer of WL.com[thumbsup]

Hey wolverine,
LOL
Nope, I didn't want to stop there. Command Master Chief Petty Officer is only the most senior enlisted at that particular command, ship or station while Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy is the most senior enlisted in the whole Navy.

Actually the Master Chief has put us all through rigorous testing based on our fishing knowledge, angling skill and lack of a real life so that we have time to post on here all the time.

Posting to see what I am :geek:
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Hey Mike do you have the ability to change peoples rank? Maybe you could offer personalized ranks as a perk for premium membership!

Big D, "Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy is the most senior enlisted in the whole Navy" is most impressive. Years ago I used to fish with the equivalent rate from the Army. Were you a good boy with the gold stripes or did you wear the red ones?

Last I had heard this is how the ranks go. A couple of deviations but for the most part this is what you can look forward to as you come up through the ranks.

0 - Seaman
10 - Petty Officer
100 - Warrant Officer
200 - Lieutenant
300 - Commander
600 - Captain
900 - Commodore
1500 - Admiral
Rear Admiral * 1,500
Rear Admiral ** 2,500
Vice Admiral*** 3,500
Admiral**** 4,500
Fleet Admiral*****6,000

Haha, that could be fun for you to mess with us minions though. Think you know us well enough?

I vote you do it.

I never actually made it that high but always thought it sounded cool.
It's so funny that you should ask. It took me seven years to get my first good conduct medal and I can still remember the Skipper looking me dead in the eye as he was shaking my hand and saying "It's about time Dirks" I was however discharged sporting four gold hash marks on my lower left sleeve. Oh, them was the day’s…
