Got a late start after a trip to the local sporting goods store to outfit my new boat. Had lines in the water by 10:30 and fought the wind from the outset. Fished flashers and several presentations with 1.5 to 3 oz weight. Fished until 3:30 without so much as a bite. WDFW biologist at the boat launch said that they have yet to see a Kokanee come in this year during their surveys.

New Lake and New Boat struggles, hoping to get the skunk off it soon!

Thanks, its a 14' inflatable that rolls up and fits in my Ford Escape. Not the perfect boat, but it gets me on the water. It's by Stryker boats up in Burnaby, B.C.

Hows the boat inspection at the ramp? do you need to get inspected every time you launch with a yearly pass? anyone know?

I made an appointment and met them at their bellingham office to get my initial inspection and annual sticker. I dont believe they are regularly doing inspections at samish or whatcom yet, but will be in the summer

Ok thanks. I used to fish that lake all the time until the inspection took place.
