Obviously the water is high, but I tried to scratch one up anyway. The water looks okay on color, but my high water holes changed a little, or filled in completey. I was the only person on the river. I am on vacation for a couple more days so I'll go back down tomorrow.

Also, I walked all the way up to the hatchery on the carbon, but there wasn't really any fishable water. The pedometer app on my phone said it was Almost a 6 mile walk.

So an advantage of covering a lot of water, you learn "high" water holes and "low" holes. I knew the river was on the rise, so I headed down to a high water hole before or blew out. As usual for me, I caught a coho, about 4# on a jig. I fished the home for a while longer then worked my way back to my car. It is sort of eary standing in the middle of the river when it is on the rise. I only caught the one fish.

I live on the carbon so I fished up there for a while longer until it wad to high. A really nice side channel appeared from the last high water. I caught and released a little buck coho and a tiny dollie there. That was it for the day. 3 fish total on a fast guitar is pretty good for me.

I just use jigs mostly twitching, I use a bobber and steelhead jigs also, but I have only caught one fish this hole year with a bobber. I don't know why the fish like to chase jigs down, but I will use that technic until they stop biting!
Also, Friday I caught one coho, Saturday I caught one chum and my friend lost one small coho. The water is high now gonna have to wait at least a week to fish now.

Fished the area just down stream of the East Main bridge yesterday and today and not even a hint of a fish. The water levels are still too high I think but with the calmer weather now hopefully the level will reduce soon. Tried spoons and jigs mostly but nothing was working. Where are those Chum's?!?!

After i get nothing yesterday but i see some other people catch some fish. I go back this morning. I get to the river about 7 am. I get no bites. Some people catch them upriver from me. I was think to myself did the fish swim up and i miss the bite. It was aboot 9 clock. I finally hook my 1st coho of the day. An then a few minute later maybe 15 minute i get my last one. Fish maybe 5 pound each. Very shiny. I think this weekend going to be very good. Some rain will push the fish up really good.

Fished down river of the mouth of carbon, little action to none for me and the 6 guys around. Some fish rolling. had a couple of bites but nothing landed. Zombies out in force. Let's hope the coho are waiting for more cooler wet weather to start moving up. Tight lines fellas.
