Went by the moon chart today, on the lake by 12 pm. My Wife and I knew that the fish were deep and tried trolling but could not get deep enough I guess or the fish just were not liking the lures we were throwing at them. So we said why not go to the middle were it is the deepest and Drift so we did. Around 12:30 they started to bite and all we were doing is fishing with worms and corn. I would let the line hit bottom and reel up 5 turns we ended up with 8 in two hours 12 inch long rainbows and a couple 14 inch long rainbows. Fun day

Went fishing on the 5th and 6th. Evening seemed best. Anchored at about 40ft water in front of Inn at The Lake. We caught 2 limits in approx 2 hours. My wife caught a nice 19" trout. Only one brown, about 16". We then went for some perch. Caught only a few perch but hooked 2 nice small mouths. The next day was about the same with trout, just no 19"er the second day. I caught a nice 17" crappie I was really happy with. Fought like a little beast.
When filleting the perch, one of them had maggots or worms growing in the meat. I just tossed the meat. The perch appeared to be grey in color instead of the typical bright yellow and green colors. Great fishing all-in-all.

Trolled south end of lake just a little ways off the weed break. I caught 4 browns, 12-14 in. Caught 2 small mouth bass 13 inch, released those. Lost 2 trout and a fish that looked to be a large mouth bass.

Fished Diamond several weekends in a row and have limited each time. Sizes range from 10" to 18". Very fast to catch. On and off of the lake in 2 hours each time. Many echos. This shallow lake is warming up fast. The new public launch is outstanding. Two ramps with a long dock between. Just basic trolling.

Trolled around the northwest side of the lake, had our best luck around the southern tip of the island. Trolled with some flashers, a short leader and a worm.

Hit the water around 9 am and fished till 1. Was trolling gold and silver dick nite spoons. Got a nice brown to the boat but threw the hook. Trolled from east to west and had several hook ups on small rainbows and browns. The wind picked up so we hid behind a island and threw toward shore. That was the ticket for alot of action. Caught and released about 20 rainbows from 7 to 10 inches. 1 rainbow at 20 inches and about 15 brown trout from 10 to 20 inches. Took my boy out and he had a blast, and taught him the importance of catch and release since we already have a freezer full of fish from last years deep sea fishing trip. Great day, just wondering when this wind will stop????

Hit the lake for the second time this year, got the Aircraft Carrier in the water and headed down to the Happy Hunting Grounds (far west end of the lake). We had been out the previous weekend and were catching medium sized trout (brownies and bows) in a odd location usually known for bass. The lake is up quite a bit so it may have something to do with that. We went back to that are and stated catching right away, mostly 10-12" bows. Then my buddy Bill got the big boy, a beautiful 20.5" Rainbow, nice and fat. We were all fishing with Green Wedding Rings with worms, Bill had just loaded his hook up with a giant wiggler...really paid off. We were trolling slowly, mostly powered by the wind. 10-12 feet deep, little weeds.
Later we went out to enjoy and adult beverage and the sunset. There was some kind of hatch and small fish were surfacing to feed on the little buggers. It was surreal as we sat in silence, the little fishies all around us breaching with many slurping noises, the Osprey feeding on them and the bats moving through getting what the fish didn't get.
all in all a stellar day.

Had a great day out on the water at Diamond. Never fished there before and was happily suprised it only took about 45 minutes from my house to get there. There is currently a NO WAKE restriction which made it a little tough to get around but the fishing made up for it. We fished from 9-12 noon and boated 11 fish between us with the largest being about 3.5lbs. Many in the 1-2lb range. Water temps were low 60's and fish were all caught in lily pads and around wood structure. Senko's and Lizards in green and blue seemed to be the preferred option. There is a bass tournament there today I'm guessing they will do great fishing is hot!
