It has been about four years since I've been to this lake and it proved to be a good time, although the weather was wet, windy, and cold it was still very enjoyable. This has got to be one of the most scenic lakes I've been to in quite a long time with tree covered mountains as far as you can see. Went up to Baker Lake Resort to check out their launch which is high and dry right now but was told in about another 10 days the water level would be up and the launch would ready. Went to the Baker Lake Dam launch which is free and in good shape. Water temperature was at 53 degrees we worked the east side of the lake for about a mile from the launch and used a Silver and Red worm troll with a trout dodger and a half ounce of weight, had several hook ups but didn't land any kokanee mouths were just to soft, left my rubber snubbers at home but hooked and released some Dolly Varden these fish really put up a good fight and provided some great action. All Dolly Varden must be released as they are still on the protected species list. Be sure and check your regulations on this lake.
