6/4/2009 8:29:00 PMHey neverenough, Thanks for the report and photo. Glad to hear the fishing on RW is pickin up. Be sure to let me know how you do with the Pellet Fly. Drifting it along the bottom and casting it at the shore on my fly rod has worked well for me. Good Luck out there.

6/4/2009 10:52:00 PMThanks neverenough for the pics. Nice to see some of the tripps in the reports again, and Maybe more "eyes" will be in your catch next time. I think you'll have to leave the wife AND sons on the bank if you wish to boat the biggest fish. LOL I know the feeling.
You might want to be careful while you're tying on one of the Pellet Flies though. Be sure to keep it low in the boat so it isn't visible from the water. Having one of those 6-10 pound trout jumping in the boat with you could cause a heart attack. :0]

6/4/2009 10:57:00 PMThose be some nice fish. Can't wait to get back out there, soon. That is funny, kid didn't want ya to catch the big one of the day! The walleye make some tasty fish and chips, but the trout are a lot more fun to catch in my opinion. We have only been to Rufus twice, and we launch at Setons Grove. Any suggestions on good areas to fish around that area other than the net pens?

Well Setons Grove is where we also put in. We haven't done it this year yet but last year during July, Aug & Sept we would go up river from the launch and drift the west side. Using the same bait we'd catch Walleye, Bass & Trout. More trout than anything. Also the trout seem to be more native up that way. Or at least they don't have the football shape. Also I have not done it yet but I've seen and talked with others that do and that is to fish right there around the launch area. I talked with a fly fisherman the day we caught those and he said he'd caught around forty trout and a few bass and walleye. But this year so far we've mainly caught fish drifting near the pens. 6/22/2009 11:49:00 AMThat was some catch you had! Awesome fishing! They must have tasted awesome!! You were lucky to catch so many over 20 inches. Very nice fish! Rufus Woods is a haven for the trout fishing lover.
