Hit baker this morning, on the water in the dark at 4am and started trolling as soon as i could see the rop tip. Within 5 minutes had a fish on and landed, soo after had a double header and got one, then had a triple soon again and landed 1 of those again. Losing too many fish! By then it was about 6am and the bite slowed from what it was and we had a fish about every 45 minutes from then on until we stopped getting bites around 10am and left the lake with 4 fish in the box and 4 other fish on we lost. Too bad coulda limited! Saw quite a few fish taken for how slow people say it has been and only being 7000 in the lake. Best rig was small red smile blade 15 inches behind 0 chrome dodger with shrimp tail on hook, second was a pink hootchie tipped with shrimp. bite is early early early before 6am.

BE CAREFUL ON BAKER

today i dropped my gear back in the water before marking my fish, i was about to mark it after getting one rod back in and an undercover game warden came from a boat with poles and gear and everything and immediately gave me a ticket. Theyre watching in undercover boats so mark your fish immediately

I respectfully disagree ace. Always punch that card before returning your line to the water.

i got lazy and didnt want to explain why we really got a ticket, its even more stupid than not marking a fish immediately, go check it out if your interested i explained it in a thread under freshwater fishing,

How steep is that launch and where is it at FishFreak? Ive never been there and have a 21 foot trophy that pretty much requires a dock to load and unload people. Either respond here or hit me with a PM.

theres 2 launches in the upper end of the lake called panorama point and swift creek> both nice launches, i know swift, the farthest one up, has docks, not sure about panorama. they get crowded so get there early, like before 4am., launch in the dark or suffer missing the first light bite by being in a line up. theres only one road that goes up baker just follow it all the way up, big signs on the side of the road mark the launches.

There is a total of 5 boat ramps, Kulshan, Horseshoe cove, Panorama, Swift creek (old baker lake Resort), and Shannon Creek,
