This is just a review for the summer of 2015. All I did was target lagemouth bass all summer at Ballinger lake. I did mostly shore fish and out on a boat and did well at both. All fish I caught except for two that way a on lipless cranks were caught on wacky or t-rigged. Majority of bites came in the morning and usually slowed around one for a few hours. Most days I could catch atleast five. But some days it seemed aliens came the night before and drained the lake. I used oversized worms and creature baits all summer because it works. I don't have time to report every time I fish so I just do one collective one and wanted to show there are some really nice bass in the lake if you put your time in. Will do a winter report eventually. Tight lines everyone and keep on rippin them lips

I grew up fishing Ballinger back in the 50's. It use to have a "resort" with rental boats on the south end that burned down in the '60's. When I was about 10 or 11 I caught my first big bass....a 5-12 under a willow tree on the west shore on a rubber (yes, rubber) worm. We use to troll the edges of the docks with F4 flatfish at dusk and caught lots of crappie. I remember my brother caught a 12" catfish on a fluorescent red F3.
Lots of memories there. Thanks for the post.

Yea ballinger is where I grew up and do most of my fishing. It's not my favorite lake but I love it because it's close and gets the fishing bug taken care of

Without a doubt, the lake I hate the most on the West side. Grew up blocks from there, many memories of course. But has never produced for me after maybe 1978. Nice to see your pics though. (-:
