First time poster here, long time reader. Launched out of Jones Bay and started off trolling at the Goat Farm. Had a jointed perch rapala and a 49er pattern Frisky Jenny off of the planers, and had a 2.44" orange OG1 and orange Kekeda fly off the downriggers from 7-10 ft, both tipped with worm. Orange OG1 picked up the first two RBT in about 30 FOW after trolling for about 30 minutes. Both were nice 18 inchers.

From there on out, it was all about the orange Kekeda. Took the perch rapala and Frisky Jenny off of the planers and put on a 1 oz banana weight with about 3-4 ft of leader to an orange Kekeda tipped with worm on both planers. That set up was the top producer of the day, and we finished with 8 fish in the boat and a couple of long line releases. We had a nice fight with a healthy 19 incher that made a few jumps and runs before ending up in the net. Good day overall with great weather, but no natives or kokanee.

Glad to hear of your success. I understood that the annual drawdown was to start on this past Monday and I was sure that would kill any success for RBT.

Drawdown of lake roosevelt actually started Saturday feb. 3rd. My buddy and i fished 6 hours with only 5 bows in the boat. Everyone else I talked to said they had 0 takedowns for the day. We fished out of Keller.

I am going to wait a few weeks and hopefully the drawdown stabilizes and the trout start to get more active. We marked plenty of them on the finder but very few takers.

1,000 thanks for ur post/report !!! was/am planning on going out tomorrow, but due to the lack of reports wasn't sure
where we'd launch and/or what we'd use and/or how deep to go, etc., etc., etc. At least you have given me some idea
and that the draw down hasn't totally scattered them, yet.

Glad to hear that those orange flies were working for you out there! Thanks for using them and sharing your success with them. Take care, Dave

Drawdowns don't scatter the trout it concentrates them. Rising water conditions scatter them due to influx of more feed in the water. I always prefer to fish with dropping water conditions vs rising water, but have done well under both. ;-)
