Northwest Fishing Reports

We are about a month and a half away from the start of the sockeye run! Mid June seems to be the time when those boys and gals run in.

Sockeye around here is pretty much a Baker Lake show. The State let the SeaLions kill fish in the Lake Wash. drainage and those that are left are being protected by the Cedar River Kings so no Sockeye opening. Then, Baker Lake will get fish from the Skagit, good luck catching them in the river. We'll be fishing the lake starting in Late July into the first couple weeks of August. Absolutely yes, I'm ready and have a bunch of Baker lake specials all ready to go. It's a fun fishery and lots of sunny weather.

We will be fishing them on the Skagit by mid june.

I'm not done with my kings and lings yet! Patience grasshopper! You'll wish away your summer.

Already got my camping spot reserved for a week at baker. Plan on hitting the Skagit also.

Wait?! Nate where are Kings already in? Arnt Kings normally in by August.

I already got sockeye in the form of kokanee.

Almost all river caught sockeye are flossed or snagged.....

me and freak will be slayin in the livi at some point. cant wait for that opener. such a blast. anyone have any ideas on catching them in the skagit???

that would be flossing and snagging kockman. Gotta wait for the lake to catch legally.

To quote a "canadian" fisherman names "screaming reels".......I catch a few sockeye every year float fishing a size spin n glo and some shrimp. I hate flossers and snaggers I am he best fisherman alive and would rather buy a sockeye from the store and cut it into various deformed pieces while attempting to fillet it than go to the fraser and floss sockeye with all those "Non-fisherman" i dont understand how that can be fun in any way I hate everyone who doesnt float fish im the best ever you should love me.......hahahahahahahahahaha

Don't start the mouth snagging argument again boys. It's tired, and it's not time. You have to wait until a new guy to the forum starts the topic like "what's this flossing thing all about". Then you can have it.
