lewis street boat launch

Post by spoonman » Sun May 31, 2015 6:30 am

Stopped by the launch yesterday to take my dog for a swim. I have to say ive never seen it in such poor shape. The couple of high water events over the winter have pushed alot of rock around. Combined with low flows, im not sure a sled will be able to launch there. Its knee deep at best for a long way out, might be relegated to a drift boat pullout this season. Just a heads up for anyone heading this way for the opener tomorrow. Sultan river might be the only option.

Yea, the river this low... go fast boats are gonna have trouble. But the Lewis launch has struggled for a while now at summer flows. Just wait until a couple more weeks go by, the bottom of the Sultan is going to be all torn up from guys motoring onto their trailer. Have to drive your whole truck into the river to launch after a while. It's annoying.
