Never had it unless you count the dipping sauce that you get a Pizza Hut. I'm guessing that this jam will be a sweetened tomato puree with pectin added. Anything else thrown in for taste?

Tomato jam is great! I've made it in the past when I first discovered jam making and was surprised at how much I liked it. It's right up there in my book with watermelon rind pickles and pineapple jalepeno jam.

That Tomato Jam sounds interesting too. I like V8 juice and raw tomatoes so...

Watermelon rinds are the greatest. So sweet and vinagery. Its a true taste sensation. The tomatoe jam Im thinking about will be seeded tomates not really a puree. More a fresh tomatoe mashed up. I will remove some seeds but not all. Tomatoe seeds are very palletable.I will probably add some apple cider vinager to my mixture. Just to give it a tang.

They are spectacular! They are a sweet pickle, I make mine with a touch of anise and cinnamon and it's really good. It's the green part of watermelon rind, but without the skin. Very good. They are really good in egg salad, tuna salad and salmon ball. I really like them in potato salad in lieu of sweet pickles. Crunchy and sweet. They're great on toast or crackers too.
