Without giving away my preference, help me settle a bet with a friend. What is the proper pronunciation for a Rapala lure?
I learned to fish from my grandfather and I just picked up how he pronounced it. I'd be curious to know how many different versions we have out there? Maybe a moderator could set it up as a poll?
1) ruh-PAH-luh (emphasis on 2nd syllable)
2) RA-puh-luh (emphasis on 1st syllable)
3) ???

I think I just did a poor job of writing out the pronunciation of #2. Thanks for the link to Rapala. I knew the official pronunciation, but like my buddy swears by, that's not how you hear it out on the lake. I'd be curious to see if there are any more votes one way or the other.Aaron wrote:
It's pronounced like this:
Rap-a-la.

This should answer all your questions!
The greatest commercial ever! The Fisherman's Prayer.

Rapala made this commercial, so I don't think they would pronounce their own product wrong.
