"New" Featured Writer joins WashingtonLakes.com

Post by Mike Carey » Thu Mar 24, 2011 2:55 pm

I'm very happy to announce that Wes Malmberg has decided to contribute a bi-weekly article to WashingtonLakes.com.

Long time members of WL.com may recall Wes has contributed articles to the site in the past. Uncle Wes is now a free lance outdoor writer and on the staff of the Mason County Outdoors Newspaper and Northwest Sportsman Magazine. He is a member of the Northwest Writers Association and Trout Unlimited.

Wes will be writing as "The Troutist". His first article is an interview with yours truly.

Welcome back Wes, it's great to have you contributing to WashingtonLakes.com!

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Thank you. It is always nice to know that someone reads your work and enjoys it, besides the editor.

haha, I'm sure we'll run into each other one of these days.
We own a small piece of property near Elma and fish many of the lakes that you have mentioned in some of your articles. The Belfair area has some real nice/less pressured
lakes too, which is a bonus while taking a relaxing family fishing trip.

Ya Kevin, I have actually worked quite a few of them with my brother. I call a lot of them border lakes, with part of the lake in Kitsap County and part in Mason. I will say we have always done well and like you said very relaxing. Are you going to the Outdoors Show at the Elma Fairgrounds in May? I hope to be able to attend.

I was hoping to attend but my fishing club has a tournament that weekend in the Spokane area. Looks like a pretty decent venue with Jack Glass and the crew of the Cornelia Marie and many others. Our property is just a few miles up the road from the grounds(Lake Arrowhead) to be specific. Hopefully next year if the timing is right.
