Kopachuck State Park Hazard Tree Removal

Post by Rich McVey » Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:12 pm

FROM: Randy Kline, Environmental Program Manager

SUBJECT: Kopachuck State Park Hazard Tree Removal

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission issued a SEPA “Determination of Non-Significance” (DNS) on October 3, 2011 for the proposed Kopachuck State Park Hazard Tree Removal Project which involves the harvest of approximately 900 pathogen infected trees in a 50 acre upland portion of the park. It is anticipated that timber harvest will begin in November 2011. This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with State Parks. This information and maps showing the area subject to treatment are available at http://www.parks.wa.gov/plans/separeviews/

This DNS is issued under 197-11-340(2) and State Parks will not act on this proposal until the comment period has ended. Comments must be submitted by October 17, 2011, or they may not be considered. Any person wishing to comment on the DNS should submit emailed or written comments to:
