The Humptulips

Post by Tank87 » Tue Sep 20, 2016 8:51 am

I'm looking to make a trip to the Hump this year, but haven't fished it since I was a small kid. Hoping to take my grandfather out on what may sadly be his last river fishing trip ever and was wondering if anyone knows of any easy access points and also what presentation usually works best there? Appreciate any info I can get, good luck all and tight lines.

I was there last Thursday. The river was low but full of fish. The easiest access I think is off 101 at the Harper bridge just a mile below the fish hatchery. I think it was Harper ?? Started with a "H"
We tried Fresh eggs. With and without a bobber. The water was low and clear. The fish spooky. Had no luck hooking any. Saw Many that looked like Jacks.
We have had rain now. It may be easy to go to the waters edge without spooking them now if the water has some color.
Also try shrimp. One fisherman I talked to said he uses power bait on the bottom and said he got fish.
Good luck and hope you have a FAB day with your dad and God bless.

Just checked and the name of the bridge is on CD Hanson Rd. off 101. Cross rd. is 101 and E. Humptulips. rd.
