is beaver still doing good for trout? would love to try and fish for them off of a new raft.

I am not very familiar with beaver lake.But its about that time to switch over to warm water species. From my experience you can still catch trout this time of year, but you will have to fish very early or very late in the day. At the all trout lakes you will still do all right at this time but compared to earlier in the year, it wont be the same. This probably wont be the same story with beaver, but over in the hotter part of the state. In the sun, the trout catch almost like a sunburn because they are so shiny, so there meat gets sun burnt. This, then makes there meat very mushy and taste like mud. So with beaver, you might as well go for the bass or other fish, but not trout. My theory is, I fish for trout the first half of the year, then move to walleye, panfish, bass and salmon for the second half. But either way a fish is a fish......so FISH ON lol

From what i hear beaver has been doing better than Pine lake for the past few weeks .. and pine lake has that swimming area which gets noisy during the day .. hey JT how did you do on phantom lake with those frogs i suggested ?? sounds like you ready to put down your bass poles and start chasing trout .. i had two strikes but i couldnt hook them, so frusterating!!!!!! (morning time). im not very well at that part yet. later in the evening though i caught one on a purple senko wieghtless. it was small though. like 1lb maybe. At least i know they are in there.

Also, thanks for the trout advice. I never targeted warm species in Beaver. Any advice on where to find them thier?

how do you get to Beaver Lake? Like, on that main road that runs past Pine Lake. Where do you turn and go? I made a big circle and went all the way back down to Lake Sammamish.

It looks like you followed the road too long.

If you are coming down the hill from 228th, turn left onto SE 24th (the road directly across from Pine Lake Park entrance) . Drive on that road and over a short, steep hill. Go straight until you reach a holding pond-ish thing, and turn right before reaching the pond. Beaver Lake Park's entrance will be on your right. Boat launch is a different story, PM me if you want to go to there.

If you are coming from Lake Sammamish, follow the road up the hill. It will turn into 228th near the top. Follow it, then turn right onto SE 24th (again, across from Pine Lake Park) and follow the first set of directions from there.

Edit: Beaver is hot for bass right now. We caught a few frogs with a lizard while fishing the lilies.

If you want my advice don't bother so much with the smaller warmer lake's, for trout that is, if you want late season trout the perfect place to go is any sspring fed lake. Reservoirs, I always do very well fishing from sore in reservoirs, but if you cart a boat to them you can do killer.

My secret, shhhhhh, reservor was mabey 50 degree's 55 at the most last time I went there I hooked 10 from 9in-13 caght 2 12incers and 2 10incers and two dink's dispite the 90 degree weather.
