I am over in Spokane for a while and was wondering what information people would mind giving me about Hayden Lake, CDA, or the Twin Lakes a little north of there. any tips or better areas to fish on the lakes would be great. I am into fishing for the bass and panfish.. I know there are lots of big fish in all the lakes, but I am kind of blind fishing them due to not knowing them very well. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Down near St Marys on the south end of Lake CDA there is an old railroad bridge that you can fish from that goes over the lake, used to catch tons of Crappie down there in the cooler part of the year using green grubs. Also while down there try fishing the deeper banks with a copper spoon for pike.
If you are in for a little drive you could go north of Newport on the washignton side and fish either of the following lakes Cooks, Mystic, No Name for some great solitude and excellent fighting trout, Cooks is a stocked Rainbow lake as No Name and Mystic are stocked cuthroat. Mystic and no Name get little pressure as you have to hike in about 1/2 mile to get to the banks.
Cook is more of a large pond that fills with snow melt and drys up during hotter summers
Mystic is located in between 3 mountins and has a small creek that feeds it on the north end, this lake is DEEP. and the fishing is excellent and QUIET.
No Name is a smaller lake near a Slate Quarry, stocked with cuthroat didnt fish this much usually fished mystic.
Other lakes near there are are Bead and Marshall, Marshall used to have Burbot until they did a kill off(which isnt 100%) and stocked like crazy with browns and ranbows
Bead lake has Macks, Burbot, Kokanee and bows, this is a must have boat lake.... Caught some big macks out of this lake trolling yellow wedding rings along the east shores of the lake.
Here are some more lakes that are more warm water, Try getting to Elokia Lake, its just off Hwy2 about 3/4 of a mile. It has a public launch on the south end and a paid pier on the east shore about halfway down the lake. Caught some nice crappie and Bass out of this lake..
Not far from Elokia is Fan Lake, good mix of everything but a little hard to find, its just north of Deer Park.

Unless you are wanting to fish in Idaho in particular, I would fish the Spokane area. There are some decent bass lakes. My first question for you: Do you have access to a boat? I think that will have a major effect on your success.
