Northwest Fishing Reports

I didn't know how to word that subject line..... All this talk about litter has been good. It also got me to thinking about how I have such a hard time keep track of line waste. I mean leaders that I have cut off, I got a big birds nest yesterday, ( on that note, I am getting rid of that Max.. something monofilament) When you have left over waste line, it is a pain in the $%# to stow away. Does anyone have any tricks, i.e. wrapping around stick maybe?

It would be cool to have a pocket sized machine that would sort of eat fishing line like a garbage compactor!! If Anyone builds it and gets rich from it dont forget me.... :bom:

i always fish with cargo shorts on, so i have lots of pockets for things like that. but...

...the other thing is i always have a bunch of ziploc bags onboard or in the tacklebox. the quart or bigger ones work awesome for putting a wallet and cellphone in, garbage, fish guts, fish, etc. The smaller sandwich and the snack bags (they're like 1/2 the size of a sandwich bag) work great for swivels, pinch weights, the list goes on & on...

if you're using the bag for dry goods (birds nest, cell phone, etc) you can use them over & over so we don't contribute to that OTHER garbage problem. ;-)

I always put mine in a freezer bag. I wait until the bag is completely full and take it down to JOES. They have a bin at their store that you put used line in and they dispose of it the right way. I'm not sure exactly what their proses is but its a lot more environmentally safe than just throwing it in the the garbage.

Berkly is asking for any used line for recyling. It says how to do so on there web page.
