How to tell what size bearings

Post by Toni » Sun Aug 03, 2014 4:59 pm

How do I tell what size my trailer bearings are?

I just take them out and get the numbers off them. Best way to be sure.

They're buddy bearings. Does that make a difference?

Take the old ones with you to the auto parts store. They will match up new ones for you no problem.

"Bearing Buddies" are not bearings and they probably don't have a number on them, well maybe, I really can't remember, I don't think the old ones did.
Toni, they only really make like two sizes of them. Take the old one off and measure the diameter and then take it with you to the boat store. Make sure an buy the SS salt water kit with the rubber cover all together. They stick you if you buy them separate. The new SS ones work really good, just remember to wipe off all the excess when you're done greasing or it flings all over everything. =)

Those just keep grease on your bearings Toni. Do you think your bearings are bad or the buddies? Bodofish is correct there is only a couple sizes. Just pull of the old one and take it with you. If its your bearings you will need to remove them from the trailer and take them to Napa or ? to pick up new ones.
